We are looking at establishing Company Size Units in other areas of the region. Our main mission is to assist the local EMA's and other emergency agencies.     The 304th Battalion drills the second Saturday of each month at 0800 Hrs. Most of the drills will be held at the Dale County EMA office located on S. MISSION STATEMENT

The State Defense force is a military entity authorized by both the State Code of Alabama and Executive Order. The State Defense Force (SDF) is the state痴 authorized militia and assumes the state mission of the Alabama National Guard in the event the Guard is mobilized. The SDF is comprised of retired active and reserve military personnel and selected professional persons who volunteer their time and talents in further service to their state.

During FY 97, the role of the State Defense Force was significantly expanded to include active assistance to state and local Emergency Management offices during emergencies. The Commanding General of the State Defense Force is appointed by and answers directly to The Adjutant General.
